As a progressive Commonwealth’s Attorney, Buta promised to always protect access to reproductive health care. When Glenn Youngkin and his MAGA extremist allies tried to criminalize reproductive freedom, Buta pledged to never prosecute doctors who provide care, or women who choose to access it.

We need to reform our gun laws. Buta will go to Richmond and advocate for banning high capacity magazines and universal background checks.

Buta is a product of the public school system and a staunch advocate for supporting and expanding our public schools. She will advocate for increased funding, instead of school vouchers which will only route public funds to private entities.

As Commonwealth's Attorney, Buta advocated for and implemented programs to help our community thrive. She implemented treatment programs for mental health and drug misuse to address the root problem and keep kids safe and learning. She also started the Veterans Treatments Docket. These programs and initiatives decreased violent crime by 32% and reduced the daily incarceration rate by 44%.
